W. Tucker and Associates is a executive search and strategic consulting firm with expertise in recruiting talented individuals and thought leaders for Fortune 500 and emerging growth companies as well as public agencies and non-profit organizations. Focusing primarily on specialized recruiting assignments, we have a strong record of achievement in recruiting the best and brightest individuals for a variety of functional areas in a broad range of product and service industries.  

The WTA team includes executive search and research consultants with over 60 years of combined executive search and staffing experience. In addition, WTA has nationwide strategic alliances that enable us to service our clients throughout the United States. We are proud of our success with specialized recruiting assignments that include the identification and recruitment of a diverse and brightest pool of candidates. We attribute our success, in part, to the extensive networking system that we have developed as well as our affiliation with a host of diversity and industry associations.

MANAGEMENT AND STAFFING TEAM

WILLIE TUCKER – MANAGING PRINCIPAL

Willie Tucker is a managing principal at W. Tucker and Associates. Willie is responsible for the recruitment of senior and mid level talent. 

Willie has worked as a professional recruiter for 17 years. Prior to partnering with Chuck Newman at NTGI, he was Senior Recruiter and National Account Manager with Management Recruiters International (MRI) where he successfully placed senior to mid level talent in the information technology, aerospace/defense and higher education administration areas. Additionally, Willie consistently received recognition as a “Top Producer” within the firm.

Willie has been a political advisor and fundraiser for political candidates. His unique style of professionalism as well as his vast network of professional associates is a contributing factor to his successes.

A native of Southern California, Willie holds a degree in Political Science from UCLA, as well as a graduate degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. 


Stella G. Marks,JD - Senior Associate

Stella manages complex research, project management, and strategic implementation.  

Stella has extensive experience working with R1 and R2 educational institutions, where she advised senior leadership on faculty hiring & compensation, diversity, pipeline programs (graduate and undergraduate), promotion and tenure, new degree programs, budget, and international affairs. With almost 20 years’ experience, she has managed implementation of a variety of broad-based campus-wide strategic initiatives.

Stella has served as Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where she focused on diversity and faculty issues, including recruitment and retention, hiring processes, mentoring, and leadership development. Together with the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, she was responsible for the design, implementation, and program management of the $25m Faculty Diversity Action Plan and worked closely with faculty and academic leadership in all nine divisions to institutionalize best practices for faculty hiring and progress measurement. She also served as institutional representative to the Leadership Alliance, a national consortium of top teaching and research colleges and universities whose mission is to dramatically increase the number of underrepresented minority students who seek and complete graduate degrees.

Stella has served the University of California system in multiple capacities at three campuses – Riverside, Los Angeles, and Irvine - including Director of Faculty Relations and Development, Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration, and Executive Assistant to the Executive Vice Chancellor. She also served as Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs and Associate Dean of Faculty at Keck Graduate Institute, of the Claremont Consortium of Colleges. Prior to entering higher education administration, Stella was a senior attorney advisor and senior civil rights analyst with the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights offices in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, focusing on educational access. Stella is an active member of the Texas bar, and was an associate in the appellate section of Cowles & Thompson, PC in Dallas.

Stella earned her JD from the University of Houston Law Center where she received the Bracewell & Patterson (now Bracewell & Giuliani) Award for Outstanding Associate Editor on the Houston Law Review, and the Distinguished Service Award. She was instrumental in developing a legal aid center for mentally and developmentally disabled adults. Stella earned her BA in history, magna cum laude, from Texas Tech University, and was the first African American woman from Texas to be admitted to the United States Naval Academy.

WILLIAM D. HAWKINS - SENIOR ASSOCIATE
 

Mr. Hawkins has over thirty (30) years of executive search experience. During his search career, Mr. Hawkins has conducted and/or participated in over 1,000 executive searches. In addition to his extensive executive search experience, he is an industry pioneer in diversity recruiting at senior corporate and public sector levels. Since 1984, he has conducted over 700 searches for Fortune 500 Companies, government agencies, non-profit organizations, educational institutions and emerging businesses. Mr. Hawkins higher education experiences includes recruiting college presidents, provosts, deans of schools of medicine, allied health, liberal arts and business. Additionally, Mr. Hawkins has recruited development executives, and other administrative functions including corporate development, HR, and communications. He began his executive search career and spent his first eight (8) years as a senior member of the world’s largest executive search firm, Korn Ferry International.  

Nurtured in this multi-specialty, multi-national search firm, Mr. Hawkins developed specialty-recruiting expertise in banking, real estate and entertainment. Prior to his executive search career, Mr. Hawkins was Senior Vice President of the National Economic Management Association, a small business consulting firm concentrating on economic development. His previous experience includes banking and government service. Mr. Hawkins is a graduate of Howard University and has lectured extensively on recruiting and human resources issues nationally. He holds membership in numerous professional organizations.


BRETT BYERS - Senior Associate

Brett Byers has over fifteen-years in human resources consulting, talent acquisition, career training and professional development, Brett has gained extensive skills, experience and the capability to effectively recruit executive leaders and affect significant change within private, non-profit and public organizations. Most of her educational recruiting has focused on public school district superintendent searches and she has worked on searches for early childhood and head start non-profits. She has conducted over 200 executive searches for C-Suite level executives strategies to achieve performance targets and exceed growth expectations within new and existing clients. Ms. Byers began her professional career with the nationally acclaimed INROADS program where she facilitated training and development modules focusing on career development.  

Ms. Byers is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business and is actively involved in alumni related networking at the University. 
and has developed a specialty in diversity, equity inclusion work and is national recognized for her expertise in these areas. She has extensive experience in diversity recruitment and affinity group networking.


BENJAMIN R. HARRELL - SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Benjamin Ray Harrell was responsible for all aspects of Raytheon Company’s operations, in Huntsville, Alabama. He worked in several of Raytheon Company’s business units, including Raytheon Technical Services Company, Raytheon Integrated Defense Company, Raytheon Missile Systems and Raytheon Air Combat and Strike Systems.

Prior to joining Raytheon, Ben worked for General Motors Corporation (GMC). His last position, with GMC was as a General Supervisor of Labor Relations.
After 18 years with GMC he joined Raytheon Company . He started working as an Employee Relations Manager at the Raytheon Missile Systems Division located in Andover, MA. Subsequent to that point Ben held increasingly responsible positions including that of Human Resource (HR) Manager and the Director of World Wide Staffing for Raytheon His last position for Raytheon was as The Site Executive and Director of Operations in Huntsville, Alabama.
Currently Ben works with W. Tucker and Associates as an Senior HR Associate for IT & Engineering companies around the country.  
Ben is a Native of Memphis, Tennessee. He received his bachelor degree from Tennessee State University and his master degree from Vanderbilt University, and he has completed courses at Columbia University School of Law. Ben has served and continues to serve on numerous
non-profit boards.


ALICIA M. JACOBS – SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Alicia M. Jacobs offers strategic and tactical solutions to organizations
focused on linking their human capital to the organization’s vision, mission
and goals. With her analytical understanding of business, she supports and partner’s with organizations to build higher performing teams.

Alicia has provided consulting services for over 20 years to Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, and government agencies. As a strategic partner Alicia assists corporate clients and senior executives in meeting performance goals for their human capital, in addition to creating strategic initiatives, which include assessing leadership and management effectiveness.

Alicia has a MBA from Pepperdine University and her Bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College. As a certified behavioral and values analyst, Alicia has the CPBA and CPVA designations, in addition to being certified to administer the Myers-BriggsType Inventory, Strength Deployment Inventory, FIRO B and DISC assessments.
